First Days

First Days First days in Zurich and Geneva, passing through Morges

Packing for the trip - ultralight and ultracompact was the goal, and I think I did pretty well.		Our apartment in Zurich - ground floor, pretty nice.

I haven't seen a card catalog in decades!		The stacks. Apparently they were organized not by subject, but by...acquisition date. So much for browsing.

The used bike sale in Helvetia Place, Zurich. We found 2 decent used bikes there, total 480 francs.


At SihlCity mall		The apartment kitchen. Pretty well laid out, except for the drawers under the table, which constrained your legs.

		In the Chateau de Morges - an interesting exhibit on how Switzerland managed to avoid World War I. It includes this painting, of the peace and neutrality of Switzerland being guarded by Swiss citizens, and famous characters from Swiss history.

		At the Museum of the History of Science. This is one of a set of parabolas quite far apart, you can speak through the ring at the center, and the person at the other one can listen.
